Fashion Tips & Advice from Steve Harvey

fashion tips & advice from steve harvey

We all want to look like a celebrity at one point in our lives. We can’t blame anyone but ourselves for falling into their styles. Celebrities have access to the world top fashion and styles, so why not dress like them. If a genie appeared to grant us a celebrity life, who would deny? I am not. Fantasies aside, here are the top fashion tips and advices from the legend Steve Harvey.

  1. Make your Clothes Fit:

There’s nothing worse than an ill fitting suit, except maybe an ill fitting, well, anything really. If you think buying clothes that are a size too big will hide the fact that you’ve missed a few sessions at the gym, think again. You’re not fooling anyone. Instead, you’ll leave people with the impression that you lack confidence in yourself. Always opt for good fit, and when in doubt, take it to a tailor.

  1. Don’t be afraid of colors:

Did you know that pink used to be a color favored more by men than women? A man who knows how to up his wardrobe game by infusing a pop of color, is a man who deserves our attention.

  1. Keep your shoes on point:

The state of your shoes will speak volumes about your attention to detail. If that sounds judgy, it’s because it is. Better you hear it from us than from your boss. Keep the leather polished and if the soles are worn paper thin, or worse, are coming unglued, take them to a shoe repair shop and get it sorted. New shoe life, new pep in your step.

  1. Accessorize within reason:

If you love a pocket square and can wear one with the confidence of Double-O-Seven, then by all means, please do. But if you don’t know a pocket square from a square of chocolate, then maybe take a pass. The same goes for blingy watches and jewelry. If it’s your thing, then have at it, but if you feel like you’re trying too hard with your jewelry, you probably are. Point is, you want your accessories to be a reflection of who you are, maybe who you hope to be, but definitely not someone you don’t recognize.

  1. Invest in a few good belts:

Nothing kills a polished look faster than wearing that beat up belt you’ve had since college. If you’ve invested in a great suit, respect yourself, and that suit, enough to tie it all together with a spit and polished cincture.
